Background
Sky House is a new residential development in Sheffield, England. ‘Sky House’ is derived from the houses unique roof gardens and expansive glazing creating homes that are bright, airy and spacious with unrivalled views from every level.
The roof and terraced areas were waterproofed using the Fatra FF810 lap fixed single ply membrane system. This Fatra solution was applied across a total of 580m2 and was installed by a Fatra approved roofing contractor. Sothall Roofing were hired to carry out this residential project because of their expertise and high-quality workmanship.
Notable benefits
The proposal for this new urban residential project was to create a Zinc standing-seam effect to the pitched warm roof areas. The Fatra FF814 standing-seam profile is a PVC ancillary accessory that is heat welded to the Fatra FF810 waterproofing membrane, creating the desired Zinc standing-seam effect at a fraction of the cost.
For the terraced areas, the lap fixed Fatra FF810 membrane was protected with Fatra FF914 stafol protection membrane. This is a 0.5mm thick PVC membrane that is loose laid on top of the waterproofing layer in order to receive terrace decking or paving slabs on support feet; ensuring the longevity of the new Fatra waterproofing solution.
Sothall Roofing completed the project in June 2020 and it was delivered with the benefit of a 20 year product guarantee.
Fatra FF810 is available from Fatra UK Ltd and can only be installed by Fatra trained and licensed contractors.
